Businesses across the globe are addressing the COVID-19 crisis in a variety of ways, from enabling employees to work remotely to shuttering storefronts for the foreseeable future. During these unprecedented times, the Microsoft Business Applications team is taking steps to ensure customers’ business continuity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform.

What is Microsoft doing right now:
  • Executing their global response plan for the Azure cloud, which is designed to ensure the continuous and reliable operation of their cloud services
  • Ensuring their Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform incident response teams are readily available
  • Pushing critical updates to Dynamics 365 and Power Platform
  • Adjusting timelines for roadmaps and deployment
Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Adjustments
  • Deadlines for deprecating Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement legacy web client is extended until December
  • April updates will be released as planned
  • Mandatory uptake of the 2020 wave 1 update extended to May
Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, and Commerce Adjustments
  • Allowing customers to pause updates for an extended period
  • April updates will be released as planned
  • Enabling one additional update deferral, allowing customers to delay implementing the April update until May.
Dynamics 365 Business Central Adjustments
  • Early opt-in access extended, giving users additional time to test and validate features before they’re deployed in May
  • April updates will be released as planned
  • Mandatory uptake of the 2020 wave 1 update extended to May
